Art Informs Functionality with DPS® Multi-Tasking Furniture
“Pretty is as pretty does” is the abiding maxim at NYC’s dps®
(Diane Paparo Studio) and it’s clearly evident in the Studio’s spring introductions at ICFF. As an artist,
interior designer and product designer, Diane Paparo has never been satisfied with creating “just
another pretty face.” Maximum functionality is fundamental to each design. Her métier is
designing furnishings that solve multiple challenges – beautifully.
Artfully conceived, dps’ hand-carved, Vine Shadow Laptop Console© can elevate a work space
and simultaneously add elegance to a living/dining space. This newest, double-duty introduction
to the Studio’s Between-the-Lines Collection© is perfectly suited to multi-purpose living
spaces. With drop-down apron and sliding drawer for laptop by day, at night it reverts to
exquisite buffet or console with plenty of hidden storage for serving pieces and the workday’s
printer and vertical files. The desk/console is available in four hand-carved Between-the-Lines©
patterns and in custom sizes. It is crafted in solid maple and finished with assorted analine dyes
or stains.
